The Alliance for Artisan Enterprise

The Alliance for Artisan Enterprise received a $7500 grant to launch its Artisan Business Coaching program in Peru. This initiative will provide technical skills and business development training with a specialized focused on the unique needs and barriers faced by indigenous artisan entrepreneurs. The pilot of the business coaching program will offer tailored record keeping training for illiterate artisan populations. Attaining record keeping skills will better prepare artisans for acceptance into the Alliance- Kiva Artisan Loan Program while strengthening their confidence as business owners. AAE already secured funds to develop the business coaching program, AAE specifically requests a West Foundation grant to pilot that initiative with 20 artisan business owners at the TINKUY gathering of weavers in the Cusco, Peru, and the 2017 TEDWomen Conference in New Orleans.
